Now, if you are just wanting a total luxury experience, you would obviously choose a different mattress than someone who is making their memory foam mattresses comparison to put an end to back, neck or leg pain with the least amount out of pocket.
Couple that with how tall you are, how much you weigh and if you sleep on your back, stomach, side or a combination of these positions.
When making your memory foam mattresses comparison, you'd want to consider how you sleep. If you sleep on your back, stomach, side or if you turn at night and sleep on all of them at some point during your typical night, you'll have different needs and you'll choose a different memory foam mattress product.
If you're less than 6 feet tall and weigh over 220 lbs., you should definitely consider the best memory foam mattress to be one that has more than the 3 to 3-1/2" of memory foam. It should have 5" to 6" of quality memory foam or memory foam/latex over the polyurethane base foam.
This is because someone of that weight might want to roll over in their sleep without bottoming out on the memory foam and hitting the high resilience base foam that's beneath it. This usually happens when your roll over on a knee or elbow as you turn in your sleep.
If you're under 160 lbs., you would probably be happy with a top layer of memory foam that is only 3-1/2" thick. Depending on your preference for a firmer or softer mattress, you would make your memory foam mattresses comparison accordingly.
If a person is just looking for the plushest, most luxurious mattress on the market, I would have to recommend the Mystere (mis-stair) by Comfor-Pedic™ as probably hands down, the best memory foam mattress overall.
This company was recently bought out by Simmons™ and I'm not sure if there have been changes made to its composition, so use a little caution when you lie on this mattress in comparing it to others.
Next, for the people who are looking for a nicer than normal mattress and who fall into the category of over 220 lbs. and under 6 feet tall, I could easily recommend the Deluxe® by Tempur-Pedic® or the Natural® by Comfor-Pedic™.
Both of these mattresses would suit the broadest range of people. I can say that confidently because the return rate on either of these mattresses is extremely low, maybe 1 1/2% to 2%. That means that 98% of the people who buy them decide to keep them.
The Deluxe™ by Tempur-Pedic® is a 9 1/4" mattress (this mattress is commonly referred to as a 10" mattress, but I've measured it). It has 3 1/2" of 5.3 lb. memory foam over the polyurethane base foams.
It has a plush feel and yet is very supportive of the body. There is a zippable velour cover that is washable for easy cleaning. It is anti-dust mite and allergen-resistant. An excellent mid-range priced product.
The Comfor-Pedic Natural™ is an 11" mattress that has a little more than 3 1/2" of 5.9 lb. memory foam over a 2" layer of latex.
Those are bonded to the remaining approx. 5 1/2" polyurethane base layers. This mattress has a little resilience to it that people seem to like. Again, it isn't enough to cause motion transfer from a restless partner. It does aid in turning at night and with 5 1/2" of memory foam/latex, even the heaviest person won't "bottom out."
As with all the Comfor-Pedic™ mattress line, it has the patented edge support.
No memory foam mattresses comparison secrets can be complete without considering some of the hybrid products that are also available utilizing memory foam with other materials.
The next recommendation for anyone suffering with pain is the BioFlex® that couples memory foam with magnetic therapy for an unbeatable night's sleep even for those who suffer from chronic pain. There are a number of combinations that can be made to tailor this terrific mattress set to anyone.
The permanently magnetized flex-pads have been clinically proven to reduce pain, aid in the healing of broken bones, stimulate increased circulation and extend the time spent in rejuvenating sleep. These mattresses are made with latex or memory foam.
They also make a mattress topper with therapeutic magnet technology. Say goodbye to pain and pain relieving drugs.
All things being equal, it might just boil down to price so that would definitely be a consideration also.
